My folks are back in town with the motorhome...which means new and exciting things to keep the girls busy! Like washing the motorhome! Papa is making sure they get the wheels nice and clean! I started Allie in "preschool" here at home. We work about three times a week on math and reading activities. Here she is working hard at counting and coloring shapes.
And while we have "school", Aubrey entertains us! Quality time with Papa If planning my class reunion wasn't enough hard work and stress...I decided to bake and decorate the cake! It was a red velvet and white marbled cake with homemade buttercream frosting. Believe it or not, this was my first attempt at frosting and decorating a real cake, not just a birthday cake. I baked in at home in Milwaukee then drove it to Saginaw, MI and frosted and decorated it in my hotel room Saturday morning! My mom was there to guide me...I've been watching her do this for many many years and she let me have her decorating supplies so I can do this myself now.
The display table...we also added two football jerseys and a lettermans coat. It was fun to look through the yearbooks! The room before the fun began The other half of the room with the projector and a photo slide show (and my friend Bob fixing my slide show presentation...who knew switching from a PC to Apple would screw things up?? Last minute stress that was not needed!!) Tiny group shot of us on Friday night at the Pig Roast Another tiny shot of us enjoying the fellowship at the reunion. All in all, the reunion went really well. It's kinda like planning a wedding--you plan and plan for a year and it's all over within a few hours! Well worth it.
Sleeping Lexie...too cute to not take a gazillon pictures! Yes, she likes to suck her thumb! The highlight of the week...trash day! The girls love to watch out the window while our trash gets picked up. It's even better when they get a wave from the guys!
Getting ready to try cereal for the first time! Not too sure about this... I do like to smile at Mom though! I didn't really get much into my tummy...maybe the next try I'll do better!
Grapes and a fan please We had the kids pictures taken while Corey was in town! We of didn't order any of these fancy ones so I wanted to share them with all of you online! Corey is 12, Allison is 3 1/2, Aubrey is 2, and Alexis is 3 months!
Lexie is hanging out at home waiting for the fun day to begin! At Uncle Gary and Aunt Sue's pool for the Gilmore 4th of July Party!
So happy! Not so happy.... A little more excitment! Getting ready for the fireworks! Ice cream social at Gramma and Papa Bauer's church... Sometimes you wonder if she actually gets any in her mouth!
My little sweetie Daddy getting the girls settled in for bed after a very long and fun day! This is Lexie...after 12+ hours of sleep!! The child went down around 8:30 and didn't wake up until 9 the next morning!!! Here we are at Sandy Beach in Lake Mills enjoying another beautiful day!
Aubrey needed a little nap between the beach and Chuck E Cheese for lunch! Quality time with Papa The whole gang enjoying lunch together!
Our family had a fantastic 4th of July! We spent the day at the Merryhill Farm pool for the annual Gilmore 4th of July Party. We couldn't have asked for better weather! The girls had a great time swimming...Allie even realized that she was able to touch the bottom and could walk to the steps by herself. After dinner there, we headed to Lake Mills to watch the fireworks...it was the first time for the girls to see them! Allie was super excited with each one...especially the purple ones. We spent Saturday morning at Sandy Beach on Rock Lake playing and splashing in the water then it was off to Chuck E Cheese for lunch with everyone! Needless to say the girls (and Josh and I too) are pretty exhausted after the two days of fun. Josh and I will be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary tomorrow (7/6)...time flies by a little too fast! What a blest 6 years we've had together.
We hope that you all had a great time celebrating our country's birthday! God Bless America!
